I have the inexplicable urge to can and make delicious jellies and preserves...mmmmm.

too funny! i bought 3 pints of strawberries from the farmers market yesterday to make jam!! we'll have to compare jellies :)

You don't need a "canner" to make jams! You just need the little kit with the magnetic thing and the hot jar holder - you just boil water and put the jars in the pot on the stove. As long as it is acidic you can can via a water bath. Maybe you already knew this...but there is no technical "canner" necessary! It is so easy!
