10 things I love about Madison so far

1. The smells. Everywhere I go it smells good. I'm not sure why this is...maybe the different plant life...maybe because more people cook with their windows open. My apartment especially (inexplicably) smells wonderful. I love coming home to it.

2. The sound of trains. I don't know why I love this, but I love to hear the sound of trains in the distance.

3. The food. The produce here is wonderful- especially from the Farmer's Market. It's so fresh and you can taste the difference. Also, anything dairy-related rocks here, especially the cheese and ice cream.

4. How easy it is to get around on a bike. There are bike paths and bike lanes everywhere.

5. The flowers. Everyone has gardens, and I swear every garden has different flowers.

6. The funky shops/restaurants. Also...everywhere.

7. The weather. In 3 months I'll probably be singing a different tune, but right now the weather is perfect.

8. The people. Everyone here just seems more down to earth and friendly.

9. Tandem. You walk in and it smells like ink. Mmmmmm.

10. Just being in a new place - having so many new things to explore and do.

Yeah, Midwestern people are totally more down-to-earth than most ... not that I'm biased or anything.
